People with vision that is worse than 20/200 with glasses or contact lenses are considered legally blind in most states in the United States.
In Nebraska, we determine a person as eligible for our services if they have sight so defective as to seriously limit his or her ability to engage in the ordinary vocations and activities of life.
We provide training in the alternative skills of blindness such as; cane travel, Braille, computer, cooking and home management. We assist blind and visually impaired people to reach a vocational goal. We assist with vocational training, adaptive equipment and job placement.
